Welcome to Fannin County – “The Gateway to the Mountains”. We have a long and rich history here with some amazing stories of the paranormal. Originally inhabited by the Cherokee Indians as early as 1650 they were eventually forced out by the “Gold Rush” in 1829. The Cherokee’s relocation to The Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma is historically known as “The Trail of Tears”. Fannin County became the 106th (107th) county in Georgia in 1854. As the Northern Railroad came to Fannin, the City of Blue Ridge was then born in 1887. We are located in the largest National Forest in the eastern United States – The Cohutta Wilderness - which is over 30,000 acres. Fannin County is made up of six communities: Blue Ridge, Morganton, Dial, Mineral Bluff, McCaysville and Epworth.
Blue Ridge Ghost Tour offers walking tours with a variety of stories that encompass all kinds of different stories of folklore, legend, ghosts and paranormal. Of course we tell ghost stories from all over the county, however, we also touch on local legends, folklore and stories of the paranormal in general. This isn’t your normal ghost tour!
